This year we celebrate our 20th Anniversary. As we reflect on our successes of the past, we cannot be complacent. Inevitable change calls on us to work harder. With the challenges of 2015 behind us, we embrace 2016.
The addition of three new board members in 2015, Jim Phelan, Stuart Land and Paula Wiley, brought new strength to Friends of Worcester. Infused with their energy, Friends of Worcester has expanded our ability to pursue our mission.
Working through the summer and fall, we revisited the Friends of Worcester Five-Year Strategic Plan. The 2009-2014 strategic plan has been updated with a 2015-2020 strategic plan which will guide our work for the next five years. In addition to open space preservation, we will also focus on trail development in relation to open space. Trails will allow us to access our preserved areas. They will enable us to appreciate the open space we have and instill in us a need to save more of our farms and natural areas.
Now is the time we ask you to support the work we do. It is a great way to contribute to the place where you live. Giving to the Friends of Worcester supports the growth of our community, not only by saving the natural environment that is so integral and essential throughout the community, but also our outreach and partnerships which form the basis for a strong community of neighbors.
Please give generously.
Thank you and regards,
President, Friends of Worcester
