(February 2022)
Dear Friends,
Each February, we ask for your generous financial support of “Friends of Worcester“ (FOW), a non- partisan 501(c)(3) organization focused on preserving Worcester’s rural character and ensuring that all residents are made aware of the issues that can potentially impact life in the township we call ‘home’. Through our newsletter, emails, engagement at public meetings, and placement of temporary signage, we communicate the value of preserving the open spaces that are esteemed and admired as some of our township’s greatest assets.
In 2021, we supported and applauded the approval of the plan to connect our Zacharias Trail to the trail in Evansburg Park—a “next step” in expanding opportunities for recreation, exercise, and adventure for our families and neighbors. We urged our supervisors to prioritize funding for the acquisition and maintenance of open space. We are pleased to note that they are now in the process of initiating a plan for a voluntary program. Also in 2021, the township’s zoning of the 55+ acre Palmer property in Center Point Village faced a legal validity challenge, and remains a focus, as well as a concern, for the foreseeable future. Furthermore, FOW has supported the efforts of the Worcester Residents for Thoughtful Development (WRFTD) to raise awareness and actively engage our community in discussing its potential impact on Worcester’s future.
This year especially, your donation to support the work of FOW is greatly needed! The costs for printing, mailings, signage, and media communication continue to escalate. We ask for your generosity when considering the FOW donor level you select for 2022. If you’ve been a donor in past years, we are most grateful for your reliable and continued support! If you are a first-time donor to FOW, thank you for becoming a supportive FRIEND! All our donors play a vital role in enabling FOW’s successes! Please know that your thoughtful contribution to this appeal is deeply appreciated and will further enable our efforts to maintain Worcester’s rural character.
Thank you for your generous support!
